See Spiderline in action. This 3D animated video will provide a detailed look at the features and benefits of this invention.
Purpose
Spiderline was developed with a completely separate gear drive box for the crank handle. This way, the gear box is never exposed to chalk and cannot jam up. Additionally, the crank gear mechanism has a seven to one (7:1) gear ratio that allows the line to be quickly wound up after snapping. The flip out crank features a push button release that allows for easy wind up of the line. The chalk line itself is made from diamond braided cotton line that holds the chalk for highly visible snapped lines. These features make Spiderline the number one choice for carpenters and do-it-yourselfers.
The Problem
If a string line is not holding enough chalk, the line can be very difficult to see. And a wind-up crank takes forever to operate and is prone to chalk jams.
The Solution
… But now, there’s Spiderline!

Story Behind the Invention
Inventor William Calvert of Lake Stevens, WA has developed a new carpenter’s chalk line with enhanced features.
One common tool found in almost every carpenter’s toolbelt is a chalk line. They are used to mark straight, accurate lines over long distances using a line or string that is impregnated with fine ground up chalk. But problems arise when a string line does not hold adequate chalk, thus causing faint and hard-to-see lines. Plus, a wind-up crank takes forever to operate and is prone to binding up as chalk jams the crank mechanism. Having been in the construction industry for over 40 years, William just knew there had to be a better way. Spiderline is his solution.
But how does it work? The invention was designed with a completely separate gear drive box for the crank handle. These features make Spiderline the #1 choice for carpenters and do-it-yourselfers!
